Broken Toilet?

Do you have a problem with your toilet? It can be extremely frustrating when you can’t flush it properly, or isn’t filling correctly. There are all number of reasons why this can happen. We are ready and able to visit your home at your convenience to sort any of the problems below and more, quickly and effectively.

Toilet will not flush

If your flush operates by use of a handle and the handle is completely loose, it’s probably broken. You’ll need a replacement part to fix it. However if you lift the top off the cistern you can probably raise the arm inside to continue flushing the toilet until you get the replacement. It’s not the ideal solution but as a temporary measure it works just fine.

The toilet is constantly filling

This means the flush valve isn’t closing to provide a seal as it should do. There are a number of reasons for this, for instance the chain needs to be the right length to let the arm settle into its proper place to close the valve, if it is too short, it won’t work properly. Flush the toilet with the lid off the cistern and see what happens. This will allow you to see whether the valve closes fully or not – and what is preventing it from doing so.

The tank takes a long time to fill

It could be the float isn’t working properly or  it could be due to a blockage in the pipe. One of the more common problems is that the shut-off valve is partially closed. In this case simply turn it so it is fully open and see what happens. You might just have found a quick solution!

I contacted Richard to quote and do a power flush on a central heating system for my mother. Richard was extremely professional and methodical in his work, he took the time to prepare the system properly and executed the work with precision making sure every step was followed. Even the expansion tank in the loft was cleaned. Heating is now back on and all radiators glowing with heat. I can't recommend Richard highly enough and would have no hesitation in calling on him again for other plumbing services. Thank you, Richard.

A foghorn noise started coming from our kitchen tap when we flushed one of the toilets or ran one of the bathroom taps and it also started to run. I reached out to Royal Flush to see if they could fix the problem after seeing their excellent reviews on Checkatrade. I was pleased with how responsive Richard was and how he was willing to come out to assess the problem without a call out fee. Richard was punctual and identified the problem straight away. I valued his advice and honesty - we were willing to pay for new parts, but he encouraged us to check if the tap was still under warranty (it was). Happy customer! Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

On Thursday I Called Royal Flush plumbing as our shower motor had burnt out. I hadn’t used them before, but was very happy when I told Richard some of the issues he agreed to come out the next day to take a look. He sent me through a quote really quickly, which I accepted. He then followed up with an email saying he could order the shower Monday and fit it by Wednesday. He was true to his word, turned up on time, within few hours it was all completed. He was very thorough and respectful of our property. His communication has been excellent, and I would certainly have no hesitation to ring him again. Can highly recommended.

Replaced radiator in room with new carpet. I called on Saturday and he was round the next day and sorted it all out in only a few hours.
